Roman J. Heitman

Roman J. Heitman, age 92 of McCartyville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.  He was born on March 16, 1932 in Anna, Ohio to the late Albert & Margaret (Zicher) Heitman.  He married Shirley Kohler on August 26, 1955 in Jay County, Indiana. She survives in McCartyville.  He is also survived by children: Dave & Lisa Heitman, Anna, Deborah & Denny Nagel, Anna, Dan & Deb Heitman, Sidney, Dennis & Lora Heitman, Anna, 9 grandchildren & 27 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Joe & Mary Kohler, Wapakoneta.  He was preceded in death by grandson Brian Heitman, brother Raymond & Betty Heitman, Rita & Bill Teliaferro, Rose & Ken Mills, sister-in-law Marie & Clemens Limbert.  Roman was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville, NFO, Wapak Eagles, McCartyville Knights of Columbus.  He was a lifelong farmer, an avid camper, enjoyed riding his gator around the farm and spending time with his grandchildren & great grandchildren.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville.  Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster on Wednesday, November 20, from 3 to 7 PM and on Thursday, November 21 from 9 to 10 AM.
