Roman Michael Nykamp, 50 years old, of Coopersville, MI., passed away on April 30th, 2021.


Roman was born in Lapeer, MI on March 23rd, 1971 and grew up in Flint. He graduated from Kearsley High School and continued on to receive a Master’s of Business Administration with a specialty in Marketing from Davenport University.


Roman was married to Jennifer (McAllister) Nykamp on July 3rd, 1993; they were married for 27 years.


Roman worked for Serv-U-Success for 11 years and took on a new position for the company as an account manager/space planner for the last 4 years. He enjoyed spending quality time with family, friends, and his pets. Roman enjoyed making people smile and laugh. He found fulfillment in finding ways to help others. He had a passion for sports, and always chose to live his life in the moment.


Roman is survived by his wife, Jennifer (McAllister) Nykamp; his two children Cody Nykamp and Caitlin Nykamp; his two siblings Corey Nykamp and Holly (Nykamp) Rambadt; his father David Nykamp; and many nieces and nephews.


Roman is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Albert and Gladys Umphrey, his fraternal grandparents Willard and Anna Nykamp, and his mother Geneva Nykamp.


The funeral service will be held at 11:30 am, May 5th, 2021, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Father Phil Schmitter of Christ the King Catholic Parish will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00am-11:30 am, May 5th, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park at 1:30 pm, May 5th, 2021
