will always remember Ron as a man of both intellect and kindness. As an English professor, he had a remarkable gift for words and insight, and as a neighbor, he was thoughtful and genuine in every interaction. His passion for running reflected the energy and discipline he carried into all areas of his life. He will be deeply missed, but his presence and example will remain an inspiration.

The impact that Ron had on so many of his students was best expressed to me by one of the Writing Fellows at Salt Lake Community College: "He's one of the few reasons I made it through one of the darkest periods of my life." The work Ron did reverberates through the lives of others.

Ron will always be a part of my publishing journey. He chose A Room with A View for book club, a book I had never read, but ended up loving so much I wrote a retelling of it. When that book was published (my first published novel!) Ron read it, even though it was an LDS Romance novel and not something he would normally read. I worked with Ron at SLCC. He was always extraordinarily kind, and happy. He was a phenomenal instructor, colleague, and friend. I was so sad to hear of his passing. Love, light, and comfort to his family and friends.
