Not sure what to say?

This has been indeed the winter of my discontent. Ron's passing signals the fading of one more image in the group portrait that formed my adolescence and early adulthood. We are all diminished by his loss; a part of us leaves with him. My wife, Marilyn (Barbur), was at St. Ignatius school with Ron. He welcomed me as a transfer student at Central and was very helpful in easing my transition there. We shared classes at Portland University, and at the last UP reunion I attended, he told me...

Growing up just a few houses away from the MacDonald family made for a delightful childhood. Ron (or Mr. MacDonald as I called him) fondly referred to me as "Megs" which I thought was pretty neat. He was the 2nd most handsome man in the neighborhood, next to my dad. I’ll never forget the Christmas light displays he and Mary could create. I would never know all the words to Neil Diamond songs (and some Elvis ones, too) if it wasn’t for him nor would I appreciate the beauty of the Porsche...

It was with deep sorrow that I learned of Ron's death, and while I did not know his family my sympathies go out to all of you on your loss.

Ron and I go back to grade school at St Ignatius where he was two years younger than me, but we did pass in the hallowed halls of St Ignatius School everyday for years.

It was not until college, and his joining of Upsilon Omega Pi that we became closer and got to know each other better. But after university there were not many times...

Dear Mary and family,

I too remember the good times. From our days at Central Catholic, to our years at U of P, riding around in the "Purple Hearse", with Brian F. riding shotgun, to my wedding day when Ron was in my wedding party, to the marathon phone calls during the week, with Mary on Ron's other line at the same time he was talking with me, to listening to Ron sing off key. A multi talnted guy,
The good times with Ron will someday overcome our sadness by filling that hole...

Mary and family, Mac has been a lifelong friend of mine. When I think of Mac the only thing that comes to mind are the good times; family get togethers, weddings, weekends at the beach, Black Butte Summer Olympics, Mac's first hole in 1, running the San Francisco Marathon, on and on... These memories will live forever.

Patty and I will always have you in our prayers.

We hold you all in our hearts, and remember the wonderful times spent with your family in Black Butte. Ron Mac will always be a special person in our memories and held dear in our prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our deepest sympathy to all of you.
