Not sure what to say?

We became acquainted with Ron and Mimi when we were first married. Ron was a man that we greatly admired -- a brilliant thinker who was not afraid to search out and receive greater fulfillment of what he believed in, and was willing to share his experiences most readily with those around him. I recall a particular Gospel Doctrine lesson he gave where he talked about the Great Flood, related it to the Earth's cleansing via baptism, and then imparted a message of responsibility regarding how...

We were saddened to hear of Ron's passing. I have wonderful memories of Ron from my youth to adulthood. He was a wonderful teacher and gave some of the best sacrament meeting talks. He will always be remembered through the great family that he leaves behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mimi and family, we were so taken by surprise by the news of Ron's passing. Dan Landeen sent an email after he had attended the funeral -- thinking that we might not have heard. We are so saddened by the loss of Ron. Your family made our stay in Richland so much more special. I especially enjoyed the long talks I would have with Ron, Dan, and Ray Johnson. We would try to solve the problems of the world and then decide what really counted after all. Ron left too soon, but he also left a...

I was saddened and shocked to learn of Ron's death. During the times we worked together, he was always cheerful, energetic and eager to head to the field where he could put his observational skills to work to learn more. He was a good mentor and often asked questions to stimulate others to think. All who knew Ron will miss him.

I am very sorry for the Mitchell's loss and will miss Ron exceedingly. I am glad to know that he is in a better place and happy. It is a comfort to know that I will get to see and talk with him again some day. I will always fondly remember the long conversations about religion and doctrine we had in the hallways at church.

My deepest condolances on the passing of a good friend and teacher. I have many fond memories of Ron from fishing at the Potholes to Gummer football games in the snow. His good natured verbal jests will be missed.

Ron touched our lives for good. He radiated generosity and kindness, yet was fervent and steadfast in his devotion to the cause of truth. Ron was a scholar. He was an eloquent speaker and gifted in a superior way as a teacher. You always knew that Ron had immersed himself totally in his preparation and that his objective was to help us see what he could see and learn what he had learned. I think he felt most accomplished when he knew we had discovered what he was so enthusiastic about...

My Uncle Buggin has left me with wonderfull childhood memories and even some great stories to share with my children. I will truly miss him and his visits to Utah! All my love, Aimee Wind

In 1981, one of Ron's employees at the time (Dan Landeen), through a mutual friend in Laramie where I was attending college, contacted me about a job opportunity with the Biological Sciences Group in Richland. Knowing very little about my abilities, Ron decided to fly me to Richland for an interview, and then took a chance by hiring me. As a boss he was full of energy, full of ideas, expected much from his employees, and had a genuine and personal interest in the wellbeing of his employees...
