Read MoreIn 1974 Ron hired me out of Paul Smith College. If it was not for him I would not be where I am today. He has been in my thoughts over the years. Coincidentally, I went on to run Woodward & Lothrops food service as Director, just like Ron. Sorry for the delay in noticing his obit

I used to work at Express Press in Roseland, Ron would come in from time to time to get printing done. I remember one day he came in and said he liked the tie I was wearing, so I gave it to him. He brought me a halloween tie later on that I still have to this day. You go in life and meet people that have a positive effect - Ron was one of those people for me.
To the Athey family, please accept my sincere sorrow, and thanks for sharing Ron with the rest of us.

You were a wonderful man, father, grandfather and gardener! I still think about you every time I plant my garden in the spring. Just the few gardening tips you gave me a very long time ago have stayed with me for many years. You were the expert!
