Ronald "Ronnie" Clement Bishop, Sr., 57, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. A native of Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late J. Roy Bishop, Sr. and Eunice Clement Bishop and the beloved husband of Pamela Brooks Bishop. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Spartanburg Methodist College, and the University of South Carolina, he was employed with Vic Bailey Automotive as the manager of Vic Bailey Rental. A lifelong and third-generation member of Second Presbyterian Church, his activities and volunteer efforts included Relay for Life, Cancer Survivor's Day, AYSO, membership in the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Foundation Society of 1921, Woodmen of the World, USC Gamecock Club, and the Paul M. Dorman Band Boosters Club. He was an avid USC fan. Surviving in addition to his wife, Pam, is a daughter, Cynthia B. Harris and her husband Brian; a son, Ronald C. Bishop, II and his wife Amanda; a daughter, Jennifer R. Bishop; a granddaughter, reared in the home, Samantha J. Bishop; a brother, J. Roy Bishop, Jr. and his wife JoAnn; a sister, Jane B. Anderson and her husband Sterling; grandchildren, Zachary, Alexander, and Samuel Harris, Kailee and Ronald "Trey" C. Bishop, III; and 21 much loved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 7-9:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Second Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Steven H. Rhodes. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Oncology Research Department, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303; the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg SC 29303; or to Animal Allies, 1097 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
