To sum someone up in words is a difficult challenge. When my own father passed I learned that in reality can't be done. At least not entirely, as there will always be one more memory, one more feeling that will seep from the passages of experience and love. I have found that tribute is much like experiencing a smooth bourbon. It is best savored over many small doses over many small encounters allowing new and fervent perspectives to glaze our memories and experiences.

My father died late Monday night, June 17, 2019pronounced officially June 18thin Sacramento, California, after a long illness. He was 91. There will be no funeral. Instead, I would like to offer this written tribute.
