Not sure what to say?

To the Campbell family and whomever may read this. My life, my whole life, was changed when I chose for my Boy Scout metallurgy merit badge counselor Professor Campbell at GMI (from a list of about six or eight, none of whom I knew anything). Mr. Campbell took me under his wing, I got my merit badge, I joined the American Society for Metals (age 15?), I entered an ASM metallography contest and won an honourable mention, and I won 2nd place in the Flint Science Fair in 1972 for a metallurgical...

My two years teaching at General Motors Institute '64-'66 allowed me to rub shoulders with Ron - we had numerous discussions, when Ron introduced me to "The Hound of Heaven." The "Hound" kept at it until I gave my heart and life to Jesus Christ in March of 1985 after my immigration to New Zealand. At Auckland University we of the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering arranged for Ron and Naomi to spend 6 months helping out on our teaching staff. They opened their home and hearts...

I still remember my big brother running down the stairs, racing to catch the streetcar to Carnegie Tech. Mother would shake her head as he smeared peanut butter on shredded wheat biscuit and ran up the street with a grin!

Still remember as a child coming downstairs in the morning to find Uncle Ronald and family sleeping in the living room and their dog on the front porch. He made wonderful memories for all of us.

Dear family and friends of Mr. Ronald, allow memories of your dear loved one to warm your hearts, 2nd Thessalonians 3:16 "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace constantly in every way. May the Lord be with all of you." As you return to life's daily routine, may you continue to receive comfort and support from loved ones.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I remember Ron as a kind soul when we both worked at GM Powertrain-Flint. In looking back I can see God's spirit in his soft speech and kind eyes.

I met Ron and Naomi through our mutual connections to Scott School. I was so impressed with their sweet relationship to each other and the things of importance in their lives..faith..family...community. I know family and friends will be comforted with special memories and the assurance that they are reunited in glory. He is missing her no more.

Our condolences to the Campbell family. We worked with Ron at GM Powertrain and his expertise was highly valued among his colleagues. He was a wonderful professor with a great sense of humor and respect for the subject matter.
May he and Naomi rest in eternal peace.

Sincerely,
Randy and Suzette Kandow
