Ronald F. Copsetta, Sr., 57, of 99 South Main St., Assonet, died Thursday at home.

Born in Fall River, MA, a son of Lillian (Ferreira) Copsetta of Fall River and the late Francis Copsetta, he resided in Assonet for the past 13 years.

Mr. Copsetta formerly worked as a recreational bus driver for the Brockton VA Hospital for 6 years, having previously worked for General Motors on the assembly line for 18 years.

A veteran of the Marine Corps. Mr. Copsetta served for 13 months during the Vietnam Era, receiving such decorations as the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.

He was a lifemember of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5392 Tiverton, a member of AMVETS, Post 60 in Fall River and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was also past president of the Bristol County Veterans Association.

Besides his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Ann Amaral of Fall River; two sons, Ronald F. Copsetta, Jr., and Justin F. Copsetta, both of Assonet, MA; two sisters, Geraldine Arruda and Debra Quartochi, both of Fall River; four grandchildren, Adam, Sage, Veronica and Alex; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Monday at 11 a.m. in the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5 - 9 p.m.

My sincere sympathy to all of his family & friends. I'm sorry I couldn't be there, my legs aren't what they use to be, but I was there in spirit. If I can ever be of any help, please don't hesitate to call me. He'll always be remembered.
