I ran with Ron at Shortridge in cross country and track, always behind him and always with respect. I miss him.

He was a great example of what a father/husband should be. I know i'm late, but I pray for his family and legacy.

I want to pause to honor and salute my Shortridge classmate, Ronald Davenport. I was very sad to hear he is no longer with us. I looked forward to seeing him at every class reunion we held since we left Shortridge in 1963. He was always there. I remember him being such a good track "superstar"in high school. Ron was a gentleman and an encourager. My prayer is that his family continues to remember the good times and be encouraged in the sad times ahead because you are not alone in grieving...
