Heavenly Gate Funeral Services Obituary

Ronald Lee Davis was born on June 23, 1948, to Deacon, Haynes L. Davis and Deaconess, Rosa L. Davis. He transitioned on December 27, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Both of Ron’s parents and nine siblings preceded him in death.

Ron was born into a large Christian family in Banner Holler, West Virginia and later relocated to Columbus, Ohio at the tender age of
five years old. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School where he excelled in sports, math, and science. He continued his love of sports and became a coach of his son’s little league football team while owning a karate studio and training both of his sons in the art of combat.

Ron had a long and successful career at some of the largest IT companies in the United States (EDS, Perot Systems, and Hitachi), and was a brilliant salesman who was often required to relocate his family to different cities within the U.S. Ron was also selected to go abroad with a team of engineers to install an IT banking system for the Iranian government. The Iranian Revolution began at this time allowing Ron’s martial arts and heroic efforts to aid in bringing home hostages. His team’s story is currently located at the Ross Perot Memorial Library in Dallas, TX. Until the very end, Ron maintained a deep level of respect and personal relationship with the Perot family.

Ron married and fathered five amazing children who blessed him with seven amazing grandchildren. He leaves to mourn him: daughters, Sherri Davis of Columbus, OH, Gina (Wyk)McGowan of Columbus, OH; sons, Randy (Stacey) Davis of Columbus, OH, Benjamin (Tyeisha) Davis of Keller, TX, and Nicholas (Natalie) Davis of Frisco, TX; grandchildren, Alexander and Madison Davis, Peyton and Paige Davis, Piper McGowan, and Mahki and Skye Davis.

Ron also leaves to mourn him, his last living sibling and older sister, Doris (Thomas) Webster; and his sister-in-law, Robbin Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ronald Lee Davis, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Not sure what to say?

I have known Ron as a close friend since we worked together at Hitachi in the late 80's. I called him "The Black Knight"...he called me "The Prince of the Desert". What is not relayed in this story is his will to live for those around him - battling illness against the odds to recovery few could have endured. William Faulker wrote, "The Past is never dead, it's not even past". This is RON DAVIS.

What a personality and a good man. Known Ron since 2008 and his son Benjamin since early 1990's. So sorry for your loss. Heaven will enjoy Ron Davis Truly. God Bless him. Sure will miss you Ron.

I played basketball with this man for years of course we did a little barhopping you know until we were grown, and then we took the world by his horns and became man of the world
