Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Rob's passing and I am deeply shocked and saddened by the news. He was a wonderful man: a loving father, a brilliant scientist/academic and nature lover. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his wife Cathy and his daughters Katie and Carolyn. My husband and I knew Ron and Cathy when they first met at Yale and throughout the years with their girls. My heart is with you.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Ron's passing. We were friends, teammates, and co-captains at BCHS. I think the entire team would agree that Ron was a true leader. Ron and I maintained contact throughout the years, although not often. It was always special when we caught up on news about our families and friends. I will miss knowing that Ron was always there. My deepest condolences to his family and close friends. -Tony Melanson

It seems that the National Audubon Society will not keep a record of donations made in memory of someone. Family will not know of the donation. However, family will be notified of memorial donations made to the other 2 suggested organizations.

Attended Bishop Carroll High with Ronald and Mary Jo - he dated my sister and was always so kind - a gentleman, even so young. Very sorry that he was taken away. Prayers to the family.

Ron was my first boyfriend. Wonderful memories of multiple Sadie Hawkins dances, bowling where I scored 29 and he said I did great, catching fire flies in mayonnaise jars, first date in a car when we laughed about it later on how scared we both were. A very exceptional person. Cathy, you are so special to have captured his heart forever. My heart is with you and his entire family.

Ron Duman was my first boyfriend. We did multiple Sadie Hawkins Dances, we went bowling where I scored 29 and he said that was geat, and catched fireflies in mayonnaise jars. A part of me is gone. But, those memories are so special. A great man from the beginning. Cathy, you are a a very fabulous person that he chose you to spend is life with. My heart goes out to all of you.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about this. Ron was a great scientist, and a great human being. I loved his work, and enjoyed chatting with him at meetings and seminars. My sympathy goes out to his family, and also to his Yale family, who I know will miss him greatly. A delightful colleague, the field will always remember him.

Ron was a fellow student with me in Sam Enna's lab in Houston. He was a wonderful person and a friend for so many years. The news comes as a shock and I am deeply sorry to hear that such a wonderful friend, colleague, scholar and family man is gone. My warmest wishes to Catharine and the family. May the wonderful memories of his life be an everlasting comfort that we may remember him at his best always.

It has been so many years since we lived as neighbors to the Dumans in Guilford, but we remember Ron & Kathy and the girls Katie and Carolyn as being some of the kindest, brightest people we have met. And we do remember the cucumbers from Ron's garden. We are deeply sorrowed by Ron's passing. With deep sympathy, our hearts go out to you in your grief.
