Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Sioux Falls Obituary

Ronald Faulkner Jr., aka Ron, Jr., Poundcake, was born on October 21, 1972, to Ronald Faulkner Sr. and Rose Nickerson.  Our beloved brother, father, cousin, friend, and uncle left us on May 24, 2024. Ronald attended Walter Scott Public School and attended Hyde Park Career Academy, and he also attended the Job Corp. Ron’s passion can only be described in one word and that is FAMILY.  His love and passion for his family was his first priority.  Ron had a wonderful spirit and was touched by all who knew him.  He was known as a hard worker and a mentor to whomever needed it.  Ron accepted Christ in his life at a young age at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Chicago, IL.

Ronald’s first job was at Godfather’s Pizza where he started off as a cook and was promoted to manager.  He made a career in the restaurant industry at Buffalo Wild Wings.  He was hired as Manager because of his dependability and worked double shifts if needed.  He was also a jokester with his employees.  They all appreciated and respected Jr.  He always went that extra mile.

Jr. had a heart of gold and loved everyone in his life.  When he turned 50, he said that was a milestone in his life.

Ronald is survived by his sisters: Geneice (Darious), Jeanette, and Cynthia (Dennis), his children: Kayla, Dominic, Amarri, Drea Rose, G’Vonni; stepchildren: Daysha, JJ and Zack; Grandchildren: Ayden, Empryss, Pharoah; nieces Michelle, Charmette, Chanelle, Charelle, Angie, Geneice, Taneese; nephews: Antoine, Aaron and Dennis Jr., as well as a host of many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Antonio Preston, both grandparents, and a niece Tyeesha Preston.

Ronald Faulkner Jr., 51, of Sioux Falls passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2024.  A Visitation with family present will take place, Saturday, June 1st from 11am-noon at Heritage Funeral Home.  The Celebration of Life will start at noon.

Jr. was always a quiet smart little fellow growing up as a kid on 65th and Blackstone. As an adult, Jr was a wonderful inspiring young man to those around. I wish I was there to celebrate Jr's life with the family. Sending warm hugs to Cynthia and the entire family.
