Once he received his degree, he worked in the Nassau and Suffolk County School districts, first teaching then moving into administration, until retiring in 1986. Upon moving to Centre Hall, in 1990 he started a successful home inspection business and then tried retirement again in 2005. That time it took! Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, James E. and Michael F. Flood; and two sisters, Kathleen Flood and Rosemary Eilbeck. One sister, Sharon Flood, survives in California. Ron is also survived by his six children and their spouses, Ronald C. Flood II and wife, Victoria, Cathleen A. Flood and husband, Paul Painter, Jonathan E. Flood and wife, Allexe Law-Flood, Beth A. Grieb and husband James, Jeffrey P Flood and wife, Karen Mazzotta and Jennifer A. Fincke and husband, Michael. Also surviving are his beloved 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ron's joys in life, other than his family, for whom he would do anything, were the Centre Hall Library, golf, Notre Dame football, bird watching and traveling with Polly. He was a member of Blessed Kateri Tekewitha Roman Catholic Church in Spring Mills and also the American Legion Post #0779. Visitation will be at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 226 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Centre Hall on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 6-8 p.m., and on Sunday, June 19, 2011, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be at Blessed Kateri Tekewitha Roman Catholic Church 3503 Penns Valley Rd, Spring Mills at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011.
