Ronald (Ron) George Gonser, 82, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Ron died from complications of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Anthony Michael Krever. Ron is survived by Bettie Bracey Gonser, his beloved wife of 59 years, and their five beloved daughters, Sue Gonser-Xander (Steve), Janice Zacharias (Dennis), Jeannie Hastedt, Rhonda Williamson (Mark) and Kimberly Rhoades (Donald); as well as four grandchildren, Jared, Bryan, Chelsea, Hunter and three great-grandchildren.

On August 30, 2018, the family will privately celebrate Ronald’s life on what would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. The family would like to thank the exceptional staff in the Sentara CarePlex Oncology Department and the dedicated/compassionate staff of Sentara Norfolk General Critical ICU.
