It was sad to read about Ron's passing. My deepest condolences to the Gutekunst family.

I remember Ron from the old days in Dixboro. He seemed to be around our home almost every day. He had an affinity for the military TV shows Combat, and Rat Patrol. Although I rarely watched these shows, I would always hear about what happened in great detail after an airing of one these shows. Because of his early interest in these shows I was surprised when he enlisted in the Air Force....

I met Ron during my 10 year experience at Fire Mtn Gems. He was always joking, crazy sarcastic, and you could never take him seriously. I absolutely loved that about him. But the memory of Ron that has always sat with me the most was the moment he stood to speak at my grandmother's memorial service. Ron and my grandmother attended the same church. I was very sorry to read about Ron. I remember him as one of the Dixboro kids younger siblings. He always seemed happy. Reading this obituary I think he lived a life of love and adventure. Just too short. I hope your memories give you peace.

Ron was a fun, goofy neighbor. I will always remember his wonderful smile.
