Ronald D. Harris, 71, of Meadowbrook formerly of Lumberport passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. He was born November 15, 1933 in Clarksburg a son of the late Albert Brian and Goldie Knight Harris. He was a coal miner and mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Harris was Pentecostal by faith and loved to hunt deer, farm and raise chickens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son; Brian Harris, a brother; Ray Harris and three sisters; Teressa Robinson, Mary Ashley and Jean Harris. Ronald is survived by his estranged wife, Louise Harris; two sons, George Paul Harris and Ronald D. Harris, II both of Pine Mountain, GA, a daughter; Rosalee Ackerman and husband Dan of Marietta, GA, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren a sister; Juanita Robinson of Mannington, a brother; Clifford Harris of Bridgeport two nephews, Lester C. Harris of Oil City, PA and Jerry Lee Harris of Lumberport and several other nephews and nieces. Also surviving are his companion Elizabeth Morlock of Meadowbrook and her children; Joel Morlock Jr. and wife Christine of New Quarters, James Morlock and wife Jeanetta of Spelter, Anita Eagleson, of Fairmont, Waunona Crouser and husband Donnie, of Lamberts Run and Rebecca Morlock of Doddridge County and several grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St. Shinnston from 3-9 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2005 where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2005 with the Pastor Rita Robinson officiating. Military services will be provided by the veteran’s color guard of Clarksburg. Interment will follow in Shinnston Masonic Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.legacy.com.
