WORCESTER-Ronald F. Howarth, 64, of 1069 West Boylston St., died Sunday, Oct. 19 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus after brief illness.

He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Barbie A. (McCarthy) Howarth; his sons, Ronald F. Howarth, Jr. of Boylston and Todd Howarth of Oxford; his daughters, Debbie Trudeau of Jefferson and Shawna Hurley of Shrewsbury; his stepson, Michael McCarthy of Boylston; his step daughters, Sharon Person and Mary McCarthy both of Worcester; his 13 grandchildren, Jessica Hurley, Michael Martineau, Bryan Howarth, Caitlin Hurley, Timothy Howarth, Ashley Howarth, D.J. Hurley, his best fishing buddy Billy Person, Andrew Howarth, Victoria Langlois, Kenny, Mandy and Nathan Trudeau; his sister, Susan Faford of West Boylston; his former wife, Barbara “Babs” Howarth of Sterling; his friend and longtime business partner, John Crowton of Shrewsbury and his faithful friend, Jake.

He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Walter F. and Mabel R. (Burton) Howarth and lived here all of his life. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. A longtime auto body repairman, Ron was the co-owner of Boylston Auto Body for many years. He enjoyed fishing and summered at Matunick Beach, Rhode Island for many years.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23 from the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wed., Oct. 22 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
