Not sure what to say?

Ron was my counselor at Camp Pinnacle in 1954 while he was at Forman. Another counselor there was Frank Selvey. Ron had a full life of being a contributor to society. I hope his family find comfort in the following: "Death hides, but does not divide. Thou art but on Christ's other side. Thou art with Christ; He is with me - So living in Christ, I am still close to thee."

There will never be many like Ron, the most positive person you will ever meet. What a legacy he has made for himself. I am glad to say I knew him.

A "priceless gem" has left us for a better place, and we are all blessed for having known him. We'll miss you champ...and we'll strive to always be "OT-OT".

Gayle, your sorrow is ours also. We loved Ronald and enjoyed him so much through many years in Latta and then again in the last few years at the beach. He was one of a kind. Sorry we can't be at the services but my health will not allow it right now. I remember fondly how much he seemed to enjoy the soup and cornbread. Hope we get to see you sometime soon. Take care. Dr. Hyatt was a very good man and I truly enjoyed my many years of asociation with him; while I was an employee of The Town of Chapel Hill Fire Department. My sympathies to his family.

To Gayle, Wesley, LuAnn, Skip, Bennett, and Brynn, my deepest sympathies at this difficult time. Ron was a wonderful, generous presence who brightened the lives of all around him, and made Chapel Hill a far better place. We will miss him greatly.

Ron was immensely enthusiastic and energetic. His interest in others was genuine and heart felt. His sense of humor was down to earth, well-timed and always on target. I hope someone has saved his best lines.

My heartfelt sympathy to Gayle, Luann and Wesley in the loss of your husband and father. I also grieve for the loss of my dear friend of many, many years. My prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. With much love,
Rachel

Ron was a luminous presence wherever he went. He had the gift of never meeting a stranger and never being without a quote or an anecdote. Humour, dedication and courage were his defining personal strengths. I much admired Ron and will miss him dearly.
