I enjoyed knowing Ron as an engineering professor, tennis player, and friend. Although he was never a power player, I never could beat him; no matter where I sent the ball, he'd always run it down and send it back. As a professor, he was organized and easy to understand even for me as an undergrad in Civil Engineering. Sorry to hear about Rons passing. He served as my major graduate school advisor and I always enjoyed our meetings and classes. He was very down to earth and always approachable. Ron was also responsible for securing funding for me to do the placer mining and water quality research for my degree. His dedication to sports and self propelled travel was admirable.

Such a wonderful life he led with a terrific wife and two daughters. And now a sweet grand child, Calvin. He is a lucky guy to have had such a full life. Much love to Carol and family. Life´s struggles are tough but as usual Carol did all she could and exemplifies courage and grace. Much love to all. Debbie D.

In loving memory of a wonderful person and neighbor. We always remember your kindness and you sharing tidbits of knowledge with us along the way. So happy you enjoyed visiting our fur-babies when they would escape the yard and go across the street to visit with the Johnsons! Sincerely, Andy & Sue

When ME and chemistry were both in Duckering, Ron and I would often discuss teaching, research, or outdoor adventures. He was accomplished in all these areas. I enjoyed his letters to the newspaper explaining technical aspects of recent environmental or political issues. Enjoy the new trails and windblown ridges wherever you are now, Ron!

Ron was a dear friend. All the years of running , skiing, winter camping, joking and just talking were special. The many trips sharing a small 2 man tent at 20 below provided memories frozen in my mind. Your love for your family, the outdoors and the environment make you the special person and friend you will always be.
