Not sure what to say?

As I began my search of the people from my past who most influenced my life outside of my family, I had to begin with Ron. Ron was my Stephen Covey. The man who taught me more about leadership through discussion, classes, and most importantly, by the way he presented himself whether in-person or on the phone. I much appreciated the Keil family, Otto, Iona, Sue, Rick, Jeff, and Ronald Jr. It was honor and privilege to prepare special cuts of meat for Otto, or share homemade jerky in exchange...

Sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was one of the originals in Lakeshore. I guess Dovey Landerholm holds the title. I'm next. Moved in March 1963. Still here! I'm now 92 yrs old, recovering from a hip fracture. Using a walker and getting stronger every day. Some tragedies in our family. Alice died in 1997, Marla 3 yrs ago, and James last November. I remarried 22 yrs ago to my best friend, Jan. All my best. Bob Bue, 8916 NW Lakecrest Ave., Vancouver WA 98665 360-574-0251

Wow.... This one hits close to home... Our Families were close in the 60's and 70's with 4 boys in our Weidman family and 3 in the Keil's we spent time visiting each other a lot.... I'll never forget when I was Collecting Coins Mr. Keil Ron gave me my first Kennedy Half Dollar ...Before they moved to their Lakeshore House near ours... It was when they lived in a Duplex just off Hazel Dell Avenue and 6333rd Street... Jeff was on my Hazel Dell Little League Team highly involved...

Thank you Keil family for allowing me to be part of Ron's caregiving team. Such a delightful few years with him. Always sharing wonderful stories of you all... and how he loved his family so much. Best wishes. (Go Ducks!)

My Dad (Kenny C. who passed in 2002) always told me that Ron was the best boss he ever had while he managed the meat department in Hazel Dell. May he rest in peace and the God Lord comfort you in your loss. /G\

Maybe my only claim to fame is playing Donkey Basketball Sponsored by the Hazel Dell businessmen Asoc. and Ron was a team mate. A fine gentleman always. He laughed when I made a basket riding backwards . Prayers and condolences to the family

Our thoughts and prayers are with Joan and the family during this time.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I grew up right around the corner from the Keil's on Ft Vancouver Way and St Johns. It was always my family's store of choice because of the neighborhood feel it gave when you went in. The building is still there, but only memories of people who really cared who you were when you walked in. I will always carry fond memories that your Dad gave to our neighborhood,.
