Dear Melander family, So sorry to hear of Ron's accident and death. I had good recollections of my dad working with Ron and other names of people from 3M Architectural Engineering Dept. where my dad Borg R. Nielsen worked for 30+ years before he retired about 1975. Everyone got along so well, worked hard as one big family, loyal to each other and good employees to 3M. Ron was a very pleasant nice fellow. I'm so sorry for your loss. I spent my entire 3M career working in what was originally called Central Engineering and later renamed Facilities Engineering and Real Estate. I worked with or for Ron during this period. I found him to be a competent and very pleasant person as did anyone who knew him. When I retired I was head of an an architect engineer team which was one of several who reported to Ron. I send my heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of this very nice man.

I enjoyed working with Ron in Central Engineering Department of 3M. He was always very pleasant, professional and all around a good guy.. All the best to the family!

Very sorry for the loss of your dad, Susie and Mark. It has been a long time since we were at Johnson together, although East Siders in our hearts forever! He was always welcoming and kind when I visited. Wonderful he was able to enjoy such a full life with your family. Condolences to Ron's wife and the entire Melander family.

I worked with Ron at 3M. We were fellow managers in the Central Engineering Organization. Ron was a loyal, dedicated, hard working 3Mer. 3M was fortunate to have Ron as an employee. He was an avid fisherman and we traded many " big fish stories" over the years.
