Not sure what to say?

Dear Edna Mae, Barbara, Nancy and Darby and families,

It was with a heavy heart that I received the news of the death of my Uncle Ronnie last weekend. As one of my mom's older brothers, and the one closer to her in age, Ronnie loomed large in the stories and escapades of their childhood and young adulthood. I came to know him as a man of humor, valor and family. Although we weren't often together, distance and time weren't variables to the bond of family in Ronnie's heart. I...

We with the Stateline Volksfolks would extend our sympathy at the passing of Ron. He will be missed in our community.

I was so sorry to hear of Ronnie's passing from Mom. Edna Mae, I didn't realize that Mom introduced you to Ronnie. You two had a good life together, we should all be so lucky. I know it's very hard to lose your Dad Nancy, but you had him for a very long time & you, Barbara & Darby were very fortunate to have him in your life for so long.

I am sorry to hear of Uncle Ronnie's passing. He was one of Carole's and my favorite people. My sympathy to you Edna Mae and to your family.
"Rest eternal grant him, O Lord:
And let light perpetual shine upon him." Father Jack Wehrs (Carole Ruth Johnson)

Uncle Ron was clearly my favorite uncle. He made laugh and always gave me a lot of attention. I just recently saw Darby and Nancy at my mother's funeral. I can relate to the pain the family is feeling now. Jim Knutson (Mora,MN). ,

We were saddened to read of Ron's passing.I have many fond memories of our years together in the Regional Office. He was a kind fun person. Edna Mae our smpathy to you and your family. Nancy and Nick Serrani

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Memories of special times when Uncle Ronnie made me giggle. Remember all those special times and share them with all who knew him as a great family man. These memories will help you all get thru the tough times.

I remember Uncle Ronnie as a kind and gentle man. He was devoted to Edna Mae and proud of his kids. He had an artist's eye and a poet's heart. I send words of comfort and courage to his beloved family. He will live on through you. Love, Mary (Knutson) Brabeck

My mother, Mary Esther, often told us stories of her and her family growing up in Mankato. One I always cherished was her memory of Aunt Edna Mae writing to Ronnie while he was overseas in the military(one of our heroes, may I add). Aunt Edna Mae would be writing and writing, and when she saw my young mother standing close, she lovingly told my mother not to peek and try to read her letter. My mother responded, "I'm not...I can't even read handwriting yet!" She said the two of you wrote...
