Not sure what to say?

I have such good memories of working with Ron at The Oregonian sports department. As a high school intern I so appreciated his help and great sense of humor.

Cousin Ron, so many wonderful memories with you growing up! Our families camping trips, fun times and lots of laughter! My heart is sad, I will always remember your amazing smile and sense of humor, love you Ron, cousin Sharon

"Uncle" Ole taught me that family doesn't have to be blood - it can be better than that. With a twinkle in his eye, the humor, zest for life (especially on a beach in Mexico with a Tequila), and wisdom he shared with his "adopted" nieces and nephews was a major impact on all of us. I had two men with me at my 21st birthday, my father and...Uncle Ole, and I would not have had it any other way - the friendship those two shared was something I aspire to with my confidants. I will always remember...

Many vacations to Mexico with Mac. Easiest person to travel with there ever was. Never had a bad word to say about anyone. Dinners in the neighborhood, Iron Horse, Giovanni's for Grandma Jeans, and Muddy Rudder of course. Adios.

I love you, Ron!! Thank you to Bonnie and Dina, his beloved sisters, who included me until the end. I will forever treasure our last visit and conversation...and, Bonnie, I am forever grateful. People like Ron don´t just show up in your life anymore. Appreciate and value the time you have with the greats while they´re her on our plane. Cheers to you, my friend. Thinking of you forever, Becky

You meant so much to us over here at the Rudder. Until next time, Ron.

Mac and I met 50 years ago. How lucky I am to have known him! He was generous, loyal, decent, funny and very kind. God Bless you Mac, I miss you... and by all means please keep checking the obits. xxx

Ron was a solid journalist and an even better man. RIP Ole!
