Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

POOL, Ronald Lee - Of Flint, age 83, surrounded by family, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 30, 2014.

Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Elders Fred and Mary McClellan officiating.

Burial in Flint Memorial Park with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #3087 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations to assist with funeral arrangements.

Visitation 1-4pm and 6-8pm Sunday and 10am Monday until time of the service at the funeral home.

Ronald was born in Flint on May 13, 1931, the son of the late Briggs and Edna (Burtch) Pool and was also a resident of Grand Blanc. He married Goldie Joy Peterson on August 8, 1953 in Flint and they were married 52 years before her passing on February 1, 2005. Ronald was a member of Community of Christ Church in Flint. He also attended on occasion Flint Central Church of the Nazarene. Ronald was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed spending time with family, attending church activities, singing in the choir, music, musical instruments, listening to ministries of the spoken word, serving others and giving and sacrificing his time and resources to meet the needs of others. He was a Printer his entire life and in later years worked in the shipping and handling department at Lozuaway and Associates in Grand Blanc.

Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Carla J. Burns of Flint, Allison L. Pool of Grand Rapids, MI;

two grandchildren, Hillary J. Pool of Flint and Brent L. Burns of Allendale;

Brothers, Larry Pool of Georgia and Dewayne Pool of Missouri;
Sister, Virble Fowler of Colorado;

many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Uncle Ronald will be missed and remembered! May he rest in peace! Beautiful photo!

That is a great picture of my handsome older brother. I stillremember playing games like Monopoly with him as a child. I moved away from home and regret that we could not spend more time together as adults. I always had a great time when we were able to get together and remember fondly the laughter and conversations we shared.

Ron was about 10 years older than I, but I knew his younger brothers as I attended church with them on Hamilton street back in the 40's/50's. My thoughts and prayers are with them. God Bless.
