Ronald Lee PRESTON

Ronald Lee Preston the son of Howard and Blanche (Olsen) Preston was born August 17, 1948, in Estherville. He departed this world on Monday, June 6, 2011, while working at a passion of farming on the family farm in rural Swea City, Iowa. He was 62 years of age. He graduated from Sentral of Fenton Schools in 1966. Lee served two years of active duty from 1968 to 1970 in Vietnam. Upon his return, he started raising grain and livestock with his father and brothers. He married Cheryl Weisbrod in Lone Rock, Iowa, on July 22, 1972. They made their home at rural Swea City, and raised their family. Anyone who knew who he was, would comment of how he was always smiling. Lee was a very devoted husband and father and loved his family. He enjoyed attending the multiple activities of his son and daughter and in recent days, of his grandchildren. He also enjoyed teaching his granddaughters to play ping-pong. Lee was always ready and willing to help his loved ones and was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City. Left to cherish Lee's memory are his wife, Cheryl of Swea City; children, Michael Preston and his wife, Jennifer; Laura Edgington and her husband, Joseph; four grandchildren, Kierra; Kia; Kiana; Aiden Preston and one soon to arrive; brothers, Daryle Preston and his wife, Jean; Fay Preston and his wife, Lynette; sister, LuAnn Dahl; sister-in-law, Peggy Preston; mother and father-in-law, Maurice and June Weisbrod and brother-in-law, Terry Weisbrod.
