RODGERS, Ronald E. - Of Flint, age 74, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Robin Widgery officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation 1-3 and 5-8PM Friday at the funeral home. Ronald was born in Flint, Michigan on September 21, 1934. On August 25, 1956 he married Bonnie Weaver in Saginaw. He was a member of the Local Advisory Council for MTA, member Christian Science Church and served on many committees for his church. He was a member of Ski For Light and U of M Workout Center. Mr. Rodgers retired as a Radiology Technician at McLaren Hospital. Surviving are wife Bonnie; son, Randy and wife Lisa of Flint; daughter, Sharon Rodgers and her special man, Rick Gheller of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Nicole, Brynna and Joshua; 2 sisters; special friends, Prudence Lindsey of Ohio, Berta Osborne of Grand Blanc; a host of other special church friends. Dear Bonnie, Oh, how my heart goes out to you; it was almost 5 years ago when I lost Jerry. It does get easier but there is always that empty spot. I never knew Ron well but enjoyed the times we did spend with the two of you. Our first apartment on Ballenger, you and I sharing the same birthdate, our rare, but great conversations. I hope you, Sharon and Randy know that you have my sympathy and prayers.

I will never forget the time that
Uncle Ronnie was here in Florida
visiting my grandma. It was during
hurricane season and there was to
be a large blow come through. My
mom was at grandma's putting down
the hurricane shutters and I had
called and was talking to him on the
