Margate, FL-Ronald P. Standring, 68, of Margate and formerly of Auburn, was stricken ill and died Saturday, September 24th in his home.
His wife, Joan F. (Brown) Standring died in 1995.
He leaves his children, Ronald P. Standring, Jr. of Washington, Timothy J. Standring of Southampton, NH, Dayle L. Hand of Sunrise, Fl., Jill M. Ducat of Auburn, Wendy J. McCrone of Worcester and Kerri A. Standring of Auburn, and was “Pips” to his 11 grandchildren. He also leaves his fiancée, Maria Rolon of Margate, FL his 9 brothers, Harold J. Standring, Jr. of Yarmouth, Thomas L. Standring of Leicester, David J. Standring of Holden, William J. and Paul F. Standring, both of Auburn, Alan M. and Glenn R. Standring, both of Charlton, Terry P. Standring of Phoenix, AZ, Neil R. Standring of Spencer; and his sister, Faith M. Fritze of Altamonte, FL. He was predeceased by his grandson, Arterly McCrone, Jr.
He was born in the family home in Auburn, son of the late Harold J. and Imelda (Pickering) Standring and lived in Auburn for many years, before moving to Florida 14 years ago. He attended Auburn Public Schools, where he excelled in sports. He also won a Gold Glove Award from the Boys Club, Worcester as a young boy.
Mr. Standring was a self employed floor covering specialist, working for several area flooring dealers through the years.
He loved sports, especially fishing and hockey and was a great ping-pong player. He also was a devoted fan and supporter of all of his grandchildren’s sporting activities.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, September 27th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A memorial celebration will be held on Thursday at 1 PM in the Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave., Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
