Not sure what to say?

An old baseball friend and partner from the 50's!!

Play ball!!!

I did not know Ron, nor did I ever get the chance the see him play baseball. I did however admire him for his name and accomplishment of actually having a baseball card printed, which I did happen to collect when I was younger. In a sense, he let me know that the name Theobald was right up there with other famous names of my boyhood baseball heroes. Thanks Ron! Lay one down the third base line.

I knew Ron in Hawaii. He was a very nice guy with a great sense of humor. I enjoyed his stories from his baseball playing days. My favorite was the one from when he was playing second base at Fenway Park. A moth had landed on his left leg and he tried to swat it off with his glove. Unfortunately the glove flew off his hand and landed several feet behind him.
Ron looked up and saw that the pitcher was in his windup. The batter was the left-handed hitting Carl Yastrzemski. Ron had no...

Ron was my baseball hero. We went to school together and to the Babe Ruth League World Series. Would have enjoyed seeing him in later life.

Very sad to hear this news 2 years after his death. Ron and my mother were married during his Milwaukee Brewers days and the three of us went to Hawaii in 1973. The marriage broke up shortly after. I lost contact with Ron until I tracked him down in 2000. We met again in Milwaukee for a reunion of sorts when they closed the county stadium. We met again for a trip to the baseball hall of fame in Cooperstown NY. Ron was a great man that I always looked up to. Very sad to know he is gone. My...

He was indeed nicknamed " The Little General" and I remember Ron fondly from my childhood days in Milwaukee. The bleachers cost 1.50 and we would take the bus to the stadium to watch The Little General and the rest of the Brewers play. Rest in peace Ron - you are remembered by many.

Oh my gosh I just saw this and I am so shocked. Ron was my cousin Terry Hustead's best friend. They played baseball together many years and were both signed by the Chicago Cubs. Terry never got the chance to play as he was killed in Viet Nam. I continued to try to follow Ron.s career and somewhere have his baseball card. My deepest sympathy to his family. He was a great kid.

An old friend and teammate from many years ago. My idea of "Mr Baseball"
