Evans Funeral Home - Florala Obituary

Ronnie Gamble age 67, of Florala passed away July 30, 2023. He was born March 18, 1956 in Florala the son of Tom Gamble and Sara Sightler Gamble. Ronnie worked at Scott Paper Company for many years then as grade 3 technician for the water department at Spanish Fort, Alabama until retirement. Ronnie lived life to the fullest whether it was cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide or fishing on Lake Jackson with his ole fishing buddies. His life epitomized ("You Only Live Once"), and he loved every second of it. Ronnie was always known for preferring hugs over handshakes. He didn't meet strangers, he met new friends. He was an enemy to no one and a friend/ brother to everyone. Nothing was more important to Ronnie than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was loved by so many because he gave love to so many. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by father, Tom Gamble; mother, Sara Sightler Gamble; brother, Tommy Gamble.

He is survived by wife, Renee Hutcheson Gamble, daughters, Selena Gamble Chidester and husband Damon and Leah Gamble, grandchildren, Ryan and Abby Chidester, Malachai Ellis and Jeremiah Taylor, brother, Donnie Gamble and wife Debbie. He is also survived by an abondance of extended loved ones including numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ronnie Gamble will be 11AM Thursday August 10, 2023 at Evans Funeral Home with John Bryan officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Not sure what to say?

Ronnie has and always will hold a special place in our hearts. We loved being with him when we visited in Florala and at our Grandma Gamble's in the Pleasant Plains community. He genuinely cared for each person and showed it through his kind spirit. He was a very special cousin who blessed our lives and will be missed.

It breaks our hearts that Ronnie is no longer with us. We rejoice that he is with the Lord and free of the struggles of this life. We are also comforted by the many memories and times spent together in school and family gatherings.

I worked with Ronnie at Spanish Fort Water System. He was an amazing story teller, a wonderful teacher and a cherished friend. He truly loved people and people couldn't help but love him. I will miss him dearly.

Ronnie and I were 1974 graduates of FHS. Ronnie always had a good disposition and a fun loving attitude. I don’t believe I ever heard an unkind word associated with him. He was a big part of the 1973 football team that didn’t lose a game until the 2A state championship game versus Glencoe. May God comfort his family during this tough time.

Ronnie was like the "big brother" I never had. I shall never forget the days when I was visiting his mother, Ms.,Sara Gamble (and she would receive a phone call from him),her face would beam with joy ....no one had to ask who on the other end of the line. He was such a blessing to others as he lived his faith as he walked upon this earth. He made each second count.May God bless your family during this time of sorrow, just knowing that one day we will see one another again, when the Roll...

My deepest condolences to you and the family. Sending many prayer to you all.
