Family-Placed Obituary
POWELL, Ronnie D. age 52, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the WPAFB Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Odell Powell and Patricia (Hood) Kelley. He is survived by his companion; Karen Grody, step-father; Anthony Kelley; daughters; Jessica (Adam) Scott, Hannah Powell; sons, Ronnie Joe Powell, Mark Rusher; step-son, Jason Sheffs; sister, Connie Powell; brother, Chester (Ruby) Powell and 5 grandchildren. Ronnie had served in the United States Navy. He was a loving companion, father. He was an avid fisherman and woodsman who loved blue grass music and playing guitar. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 27, 2007 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. with Pastor Lanny Kelley officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM on Sunday, August 26. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

I only knew Ron for about 7 years but that was long enough to see the good in his heart. I have the honor of seeing him everyday in his 2 beautiful grand kids and my beautiful wife. Ron once told Jess and I that he was sorry he could not give us things when we went to visit. But, Ron gave me the most wonderful thing in the world without even realizing how much it meant to me. He gave me Jessi and Jessi gave me her heart which is filled with all the wonderful things her dad posessed. I was glad to see Ron go to his next life with a special Naval tribute. Thank you for serving our country. I will miss you Ron. I love you.

I never got a chance to meet Mr. Powell. I learned alot about this loving man through the eyes and heart of his loving daughter, Jessica. I would like to extend my sympathy to all of the families and especially to Jessica's.
