He is survived by his son, JuJu; parents, Loretta Brown-Byrd and Roosevelt "Butch" Byrd; seven siblings, grandparents, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull Street. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Morning Star Baptist Church, 3509 Midlothian Pike. Rev. Tyrell Brown, pastor officiating. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
