Obituary

Rose Lee Meade Davenport, 79, of Berry Street, Orange, died Friday, March 7, 2008, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Born March 15, 1928, in Orange County, she was the daughter of the late Elhanon Rowe and Viola Sacra Meade.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and retired from the American Silk Mills.

Mrs. Davenport is survived by her husband, Ray Davenport of Orange; two sisters, Odessa Bowers of Mechanicsville, and Marie Clark of Louisa; two nephews, Dennis Ray Henry of Ruckersville and Charles Richardson of Lahore; a niece, Linda Snead and her husband, Ronald, of Barboursville.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Southward, Gladys M. Henry and Anna Faulconer.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Graham Cemetery with the Reverend Tom Barnard officiating.

Family visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at the Preddy Funeral Home, 250 West Main Street, Orange, Virginia.
