Morrisville-Rosalie Edith Wagner, 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at The Manor in Morrisville. She was born September 2, 1929 in Burlington the daughter of Prosper Charles Francis and Gladys Mary Trayah. She married Clayton Ernest Wagner on August 8, 1948 in Georgia, VT. He predeceased her in 1989.


 


Rosalie worked as a housekeeper for many years. She enjoyed gardening, family cookouts, and visiting with her many friends.


 


She is survived by her children, Bruce Wagner and wife, Donna of Richmond and Charles Wagner of Morrisville; daughter- in- law, Suzanne of Burlington; siblings, Donald Francis of Northfield and Joan Tyner and husband, Jon of Williston; grandchildren, Scott Wagner and wife, Hanna of Cambridge; Melissa Short and husband, Steve of Burlington; Kris Dompierre and wife, Ruth of Hyde Park and Renae Masse of Fairfield; great grandchildren, Gregory Short and wife, Jaime of Grand Isle; Alicia Short and Tyler Short of Burlington; Austin Masse and Dylan Masse of Fairfield; Mysha and Billy Atherton of Eden and Warren Dompierre of Hyde Park; great-great grandchildren, Raegan Short and brother, Bennett of Grand Isle; and Kloe Atherton and soon to be born brother, Karson from Eden.


 


In addition to her husband and parents, Rosalie was predeceased by daughters, Gladys Rose in 1950 and Charlotte Marie in 1958; son, Clayton Ernest Wagner, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Sally Morse Wagner; grandsons, Michael Richard Wagner and Derrick Wagner; brothers, Harold, Robert, Prosper, William, Richard, Herbert, James and Wallace Francis; sisters, Cecile Villano, Rita Tatro, Shirley Thompson and Marion Zuzick.


 


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 367 Brooklyn St., Morrisville, VT. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at the convenience of the family at a later date.


 


The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Manor for the excellent care provided to Rosalie.


 


In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rosalie’s memory may be made to North Country Animal League, 16 Mountain View Meadow, Morrisville, VT 05661.
