Passed peacefully away in her family’s presence at the Health Science Centre on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Rosalita Walsh of Georgetown, age 72 years.


Predeceased by her parents: Thomas and Mary (Aggie) Hayes; parents-in-law: Walter and Mary Walsh; sisters: Mary Holly and Irene Antle, and brother Phonse Hayes; brothers-in-law: Patrick, Edward and Bill Walsh, Tom Furey and Will Murphy; sister-in-law Michelle Walsh; nieces: Amanda Furey and Tara Veri, and great-nephew Benjamin Brewer.


Leaving to mourn her loving husband of fifty years, Len; sons: Bradley (Michelle), Aaron (Janine), and Leonard (Gaydine); daughter Krista (Roan); her pride and joy, her grandchildren: Hannah (Willie), Brett (Maria), Nathan (Lauryn), Matthew (Shannon), Katie, Reese, and Ryan; great-grandchildren: Ella, Elora, McKenna, Lincoln, and Jayda. Her loving family, sisters: Bernadette (Kevin) and Madonna; brother Gerard (Kathy). Brothers-in-law: Bill Holly (Cheryl), Tom Antle, Bern Walsh (Shirley), Frank Walsh (Mary), Jerome Walsh (Muriel) and Jim Walsh (Karen); sisters-in-law: Judy, Lorraine (Tim) and Marie. Also, a large number of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, friends and her special companion Shi.


Rose devoted twenty-seven years to St Patrick’s Parish, Brigus, as their parish secretary. She loved her work and made wonderful friends through the years with the parishioners and priests. Rose and Len spent many years traveling with Aaron playing hockey. They were happiest in a cold arena, cheering on the Rovers. Through hockey they made the best of friends and memories to last a lifetime from home games and road trips.


The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the emergency department at Carbonear Hospital, and CCU of the Health Science Centre who provided mom with the best care.  Thank you for helping us through the most difficult day of our lives, we greatly appreciate it.


Resting at Flaherty’s Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Sunday, October 27th, 10:00am - 9:00pm. Mass will take place at Our Lady of the Snows Church, Marysvale, Monday, October 28th, 2024, at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow with inurnment at a later date.


Rose loved all beautiful things, especially flowers. Flowers graciously accepted, or donations in her memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

I remember her as a gentle, friendly and caring young woman. She was married to Len Walsh and living in their new house ..just up from Tom and Aggies and they invited us to stay with them while we visited family in NFLD. This was in 1976. My condolences to Len and his family.

Uncle Len, Bradley, Krista and Aaron. So sad to hear of your loss. Aunt Rose was such a kind, caring person who blessed those who were fortunate to have met her. May you find comfort in all the fond memories that you have of her.

Len, Brad, Krista, Aaron and Leonard. We were all saddened to hear of Aunt Rose’s passing. I will always remember her kindness, love, and caring she had for all in her life. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. She will be dearly missed. All our best and condolences to you all.

To Len and family, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Rosalina. We were in the same class together. I always found her to be a very nice person and very friendly to all. I haven’t seen her in years but know she loved you and her family very much. Remember your good times and it will help in the days to come. Rest in peace and fly high with the angels.

Over the past 5-6 months Rose and I had the privilege to spend an hour or two on a weekly basis chatting about our children, grandchildren, Family, schooldays, our dogs, friends and sweet nothings. We shared many laughs and sometime tears! I will miss the time we shared, and I will miss you Rose! Love you Always
