Read MoreI was saddened to hear of the passing of the best teacher I ever had. I was lucky enough to have her twice. The first time was at Hollister Street school, and later at Manchester High School. I have thought about her so many times. My condolences to her family.

I met Ronny when she lived next door to my mother, Elsie, at both the Arbors and Manchester Manor. Now they are neighbors again. Ronny was absolutely delightful to know - caring, well-versed and totally charming. She was a grand lady who will be missed.

Sorry to hear of her passing. I have been teaching for over 40 years and it was Mrs. Toomey who inspired me when I was a student of hers at Manchester High School.
