ORLANDO, ROSARIO Rosario Orlando, 82, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2012, at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the beloved husband of the late Concetta Ombrello Orlando. Mr. Orlando was born in Patti, Sicily, Italy on October 19, 1930, son of the late Salvatore and Gaetana Orlando. A resident of Ansonia since immigrating from Italy in 1969, he was employed at both the Farrel Corporation and Fitzpatrick's auto dealership in Ansonia until his retirement. Rosario was a devoted communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and enjoyed cooking and gardening. He is survived by a loving and devoted daughter, Maria F. Astarita and her husband Theodore of Ansonia, five cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Astarita and Katherine Astarita both of Ansonia, Melissa Orlando of CA, Sarah Orlando-Hernandez of Seymour and Rachel Caruso of Naugatuck, three great-grandchildren, Lainey and Richard Harlow and Cecilia Hernandez, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Orlando of Seymour, a brother, Francesco Orlando, a sister, Angela DiPino both of Patti, Sicily, Italy, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by a son, Salvatore Orlando, a daughter, Gaetano Orlando, a brother, Antonino Orlando, and a sister Maria Pontillo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at 8:15 am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on WEDNESDAY from 4-7 pm.
