Rose Galick was a good friend of my mother's. I too became her friend and neighbor at 9244 Gross Point Road, Skokie. She would typically dress in pink or rose-colored clothing as a play on her name. And pink was definitely her color! Rose would invite me to her home to shoot the breeze, but since she was a person of few words, I wound up doing most of the talking. As she grew older and found it increasingly difficult to walk or even pick up the phone, I would stop by and keep her company...
