When I first met Rose, she was a substitute teacher at Woodlawn Intermediate and Woodlawn Primary. That was a very long time ago, but even then I knew I had met someone special. Not only special as a teacher, which she certainly was, but special as a human being. Compassion, caring and sincerely loving those with whom she made contact came as easy to Rose as breathing does for the rest of us.
