When I first met Rose, she was a substitute teacher at Woodlawn Intermediate and Woodlawn Primary. That was a very long time ago, but even then I knew I had met someone special. Not only special as a teacher, which she certainly was, but special as a human being. Compassion, caring and sincerely loving those with whom she made contact came as easy to Rose as breathing does for the rest of us. At first hearing of her passing, I felt a deep sadness, but was suddenly bolstered by the thought...
