Alex, thank you for the time I got to spend with Rosemarie while we were in DC in 71-72. You guys live in Gaithersburg and I would go visit with Nellie almost every week. My godmother was such a caring person and though I did not see her often, I loved her dearly and always called her "ma marraine". Once she was on a layover in Orlando and she called and I took our kids with me to see her near the gate (pre 9/11). What a joy it was to see her and how loving she was to our kids. I will...

Dear Alex and Family, The world lost a unique individual when your dearest Rose-Marie died. I was so saddened when I learned this and regret very much that Rose-Marie and I were barely in touch these recent years. She was more than a neighbor and friend; more than a fellow Graduate Student. Rose-Marie inspired many students at SUNY Geneseo, not only to learn about anthropology, but also to engage in service to others. I cherished her as a colleague because she was always so generous with her time, her wisdom, and her heart. I am very sorry to learn of her passing and extend my condolences to her family.
