Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel Obituary

MCGEE, Mrs. Rose-age 70, of Flint, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center.  Funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, April 28, 2018 with an 11:00 am family hour at St. George Bethel Church, 3801 M. L. King Ave. Flint, MI.  Pastor Antwain Alexander officiating.  The final resting place for Mrs. McGee will be River Rest Cemetery, Flint, MI.  Calling hours for Mrs. McGee are 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, April 27, 2018 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel, 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507.

Mrs. Rose Antoinette (Toni) McGee was born November 2, 1947 in Oakland, California to parents of Betty J. Wallace and James H. Wallace.

Rose graduated from Flint Northwestern High School in 1966 and received a Bachelors Degree from Spring Arbor Michigan in Social Work.  Rose volunteered at Hurley Medical Center for many years and was an organ advocate for the Kidney foundation.  Rose was member of Empowered Believers formerly known as Greater Bethlehem and was a current member of Kingdom First Church.

Mrs. Rose Antoinette McGee leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Andre (Felecia) McGee and Oliver (Lemmie) McGee; grandchildren, Michael Brown, Martres Brown, Andre McGee Jr., Ivana McGee and Naomi McGee; mother, Betty J. Wallace; sisters, Deborah (Rick) Brown, Susette Wallace and Sonja (Jeffery) Lee; brothers, Ronald Wallace of MI and Reginald Wallace of Riverdale, GA; a host of nephews and nieces, including special niece Tracy Harris, who took care of her during her illness; special friends Judy Browning, Bessis Robinson of Kearsley Manor and Sis. Ragland.


Mrs. Rose A. McGee was preceded in death by: her grandchild, Olivia Rose McGee; father, James Wallace; sisters, Coquese Wallace and Joann Mason and brother, Ricardo Wallace.

The family of Rose Antoinette McGee would like to give special thanks to the Nursing Staff at Hurley Medical center, Dr. Osama, Fostorian Manor, Sheldon T. Banks and staff, family and friends.

Although she didn't birth them all, Mother McGee was a true mother to many. She was a straight-shooter with love and never wanted to hurt or offend anyone. Her smile and laughter were contagious. Praying for GOD's peace and comfort for all of you during this time.
