I didn't meet Rose until later in life but I was always struck by how poised and attentive she was - a great listener and conversationalist amid the hubbub of large gatherings. She must have been an amazing teacher. What a wonderful example she set. She'll be remembered by so many.

As one of the "surrogate daughters" throughout my childhood, I will always remember the incredible family meals Mrs. McGinnis would make, having milk AFTER we ate, her big beautiful smile, and how she always made me feel welcome and loved.
