Rose Marie Nelson passed away unexpectedly on February 17th, 2021; leaving behind a void in everyone's heart. She was born in Chester County, PA. on February 10th, 1947 to Edgar and Mary Jane Hess. A lifelong resident of Binghamton, NY, Rose moved to Tampa, Florida in May of 2016 where she became a beloved neighbor and friend to everyone at the Sheldon West 55 and older community. Rose loved having people visit, especially family. Her grandchildren all knew that Grandma would be delighted to see them and would be highly interested in all their activities. Each member of the extended family has fond memories of stopping in to see Mom/Grandma/Aunt Rosie and spending hours visiting around her large dining room table. She was an excellent cook, loved her flower garden and the most adorable social butterfly who kept a very full calendar that included both friends and family. She loved Bingo, playing pinochle, and her weekly lunch outings with friends and spending her time at The Moose Lodge. She was especially proud of her time with the group she started in the community called "Gabby Girls" where she spent hours talking with friends about life. Besides a life long homemaker, Rosie was a dedicated foster mother for over 10 years, providing a loving home to over 30 foster children. In all aspects of her life, Rose was well known for giving herself to others and expecting nothing in return. Rose is survived by her partner of 38 years, Bill Morris. Her siblings Joe (Dawn) Hess, Emma (Robert) Judd. Her five children, Don (Andrea) Nelson, Rick (Cheryl) Nelson, Gina (Ryan) Sherman, Lisa (Lucas) Whittaker, and KellyAnn Nelson. Grandchildren Chelsey (Matt), Meaghan(Jeff), Michael, Matthew, Brandon, Bryan, Brent, Natalie, Jordyn, and great grand daughter Madison; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Proceeding Rose's passing were her sister Barbara Beavers (February 25, 2021) and her life long friend Margaret Kahn (March 27, 2021). These three beautiful ladies spent all most everyday together over the past several years and they are now together in Heaven. The Lord wanted to keep them together forever. We invite you to join us as we celebrate their lives. Celebrations will be held in Tampa, FL and Endicott, NY - full details can be found on the "services" tab.
