Nichols, Rose G. Ypsilanti, MI At the age of 82, Rose's guardian angel took her by the hand to Rainbow Valley where she was met by many meows and licks, barks and wagging tails. They all crossed over Rainbow Bridge to God's country, where at the gates to St. Peter she did tell another former Marine reporting "Sir, with life on earth spent well, I wish God's blessings be on: all my precious family, my cousins, nieces and nephews, my friends I grew up with and those I served with, my WMA chapter members, all my neighbors past and present, all my church and choir friends, my clergy, the altar servers, those I worked with at Erickson and WCC, the Lake-view bunch, the Otters, all my physicians, my pharmacy and bank friends, my MCL friends, those I met jogging along the lake to say 'Hello, how are you? Have a good day,' and all my friends I met along the way. You all have cheered and brightened my day. May God bless all of you from above, especially my family whom I dearly love. Good bye, Semper Fi, till we meet again one day in that sky above so far away." Love, Rose. Survivors include: four sons, Mark Nichols, Paul (Tina) Nichols, Donald (Barbara) Nichols and Tommy Nichols; one daughter Diana (Espen) Jernberg; four grandchildren, Meisen and Katarina Jernberg and Jaxson and Lucas Nichols. She was preceded in death by her husband Lon and her parents. The funeral mass will be 10 am Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 410 W. Cross Street, Ypsilanti with Fr. Roggenbuck as celebrant. Cremation will follow. Contributions in her memory may be made to either the Huron Valley Humane Society, ASPCA or the Saint Louis School for Boys (Pinckney or Dexter). Envelopes are available at Stark Funeral Service where the family will greet friends 2-4 & 6-9 pm Thursday and at the church from 9 am until time of service Friday. Rose was an amazing, wonderful, warm and loving bundle of energy and goodness. She loved her family so much and was so proud of them all. It was a joy to be around her. How sorry I am that she is gone but she will live on in all who knew her.

So fortunate to have so many great memories of Rose over the years. My second Mom and I so grateful to have known such a kind, loving and tough lady. Love you Rose, glad that youre now comfortable.

I remember well, all those years ago, cheering with Rose for the Lake View and Otter Swimmers. She was such a Spunky Lady. Blessings to her Family and Many Friends.

To the Nichols Family - we loved your mom! She was a gem - a great friend and neighbor. I loved jogging with her years ago. She was a great friend to my mom and dad. Rosie we love you! - Susan Sell

May God welcome you home as a friend Rose. You were a fantastic mother to your children and to me as well. May God comfort your family in this difficult time and give them peace.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Diana and family. Although it's been many of years I still cherish the fond memories of our childhood in Gault Village and all the lovely snacks along the way Mrs Nichols shared with all of us kids. God bless you ❤

Farewell to a wonderful friend, mother and as she called herself, BAM.
