Rose B. (Kobak) Olbrych, 95, a lifelong resident of Chicopee, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 in the Birch Manor Nursing Home. Born on July 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Strozyk) Kobak She was educated in local schools and was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Basilica. Rose wad a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her husband, Walter S. Olbrych, Sr., predeceased her on June 24, 1994. She is survived by her four children; sons, Wallace A. Olbrych and his wife Ellen, Paul M. Olbrych and his wife Kathleen and Walter S. Olbrych, Jr., all of Chicopee; daughter, Rosemary Marcil and her husband Richard of Pompano Beach, FL; grandchildren, Marcia Olbrych, Michael Olbrych and his wife Mary, Sean Olbrych, Kara Finken and her husband Peter, Elizabeth Olbrych-Young and her husband Gus, Margaret Murphy and her husband Michael, Richard Marcil and his wife Joy and Michael Marcil and his wife Kimberly and 11 great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Constance Reeves of Washington, NJ and was predeceased by her two other siblings, Thomas Kobak and Sally Seat. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and management at Birch Manor Nursing Home for the care and compassion provided to Rose during her 10 months stay in a facility that she could call home. Private funeral services were held for the family on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated in St. Stanislaus Basilica and burial taking place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee was entrusted with the arrangements.

I met rose while visiting my mom at Birch Manor, such a joy and sweet lady.
She will be missed.
