Rosella Flores, only daughter of Eulogio and Tommie Flores joined her beloved parents in heaven on March 21, 2014. Rosella retired after working in the accounting field for various companies in El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico. Shortly after retiring, she moved back to Hatch to live in her childhood home. She was a volunteer at the Hatch Public Library and served as a member of the Board of Directors. Rosella enjoyed reading, quilting and visiting casinos as well as shopping and travelling with her cousin Dolores Holguin. Two of her favorite trips fulfilled her dreams of travelling to the Island of Oahu and visiting Chaco Canyon, however her favorite her passion was spending time with her family. Rosella never had children of her own but she considered her cousins' children to be the grandchildren she never had. She felt blessed to have been included in so many events in their lives and to have been able to watch them grow. She was extremely proud of all their accomplishments. Having one of these children call her "Nana," "Auntie" or "Grandma" always filled her heart with joy. Rosella felt honored to have been Godmother to Bernadette Acosta, Falicia Armendariz, Joshua Valenzuela and DeRick Franco. Those left to mourn his passing include her godchildren, Bernadette Acosta of Garfield, Falicia Armendariz of Hatch, Joshua Valenzuela and DeRick Franco both of Las Cruces; her cousin and travelling companion, Dolores Holguin of Garfield: lifelong dear friend, Sharon Gamboa of Las Cruces; her aunt, Maggie Flores of Hatch; uncles, Elias Flores also of Hatch, James Robles and wife Minerva of Doña Ana, Ray Robles of Las Cruces as well as numerous other cousins who loved her. Visitation for Rosella will begin at 6 PM Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, 611 W. Hall in Hatch where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 9 AM Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the same church with Reverend Guillermo Rivera officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be David Holguin, Ricardo Armendariz, John Robles, Joshua Valenzuela, Ray and Edward Flores. Honorary bearers will be Enrique Avalos, James Gimler, Joseph and Joshua McAllister, David Edward Holguin, Xavier Mendoza, James and Rey Robles, Elias and Christian Flores, and Jonah Escalante. Not sure what to say?

I just heard of Rosella's passing this week. I was traveling out of the country and "off grid" till my son in LC called. She will always be kindly remembered, as she was the trusted manager/administrator for several years at my dental office while I lived in Las Cruces. Kind regards to all her family

My condolences to her family. I was just thinking of you Her last week! We worked together at Dr. Pontious' office many years ago. I will always remember our fun nights at bingo!

We are saddened to hear about the passing of Rosella. Although, we are in Albuquerque we are family. Rosella's grandmother, Jesusita Fagardo, and my grandmother, Magdalena Cordova are sisters. I do remember those wonderful times when I was a child visiting Hatch and spending time with Rosella and the entire family. Her mother, Tomasa, and her father, Eulogio were my godparents. All the Cordova family from Albuquerque send condolences to Rosella's family and dear friends. God Bless...

We are all children, just with more years

Shelly, Remember how we used to cruise down Main Street Las Cruces in that beautiful baby blue Thunderbird with you at the wheel and the rest of us "girls" giggling and making comments about some cute boy we spotted in the car next to us. That was 1968! We were all starting our lives at NMSU! Norma & Edward and the Original Chicanos "the OC's". How time flew! Yet, the memories are as fresh as yesterday. "...Our body is like the cage, and the spirit is like the bird... without the cage the...

My condolences to the family. She was a good friend to many and will be missed. May happy memories of Rosella help to get you through the difficult times.

My sympathy goes out to Rosella's family. I went to school with her in Hatch and remember how nice she always was. God bless you all.

Heaven has gain yet another loving soul! I was blessed having met Rosella in my earthly life's journey & believe that we all return to the source from which we come from! To your family & friends my deepest condolences!

I am saddened to learn of Rosella's passing. My sincere condolences to her surviving family. I met Rosella in college, we were roomates for many years. I will always cherish the memories of those days and meeting several members of her family. She found me several years ago and since then we enjoyed phone conversations, and internet communications. I will miss our visits. May God Bless and comfort you all.
