Dr. Rosemarie Carroll, age 53, late of Palos Heights and Maple Island, Magician Lade, Sister Lakes, Michigan, Superintendent of Palos School District 118, an educator, leader, innovator and activist in the area of curriculum development died Friday evening in her home after a two year illness with her loving husband and family at her side. Beloved wife of Dr. John E. Bova. Devoted mother of Kelly Marie Pilachowski and Bridgette Carroll Bova. Dear step-mother of Craig (Jennifer) Bova and Caryn Bova. Loving sister of Margaret (Edward) Gricus, Daniel E. (Judith) Carroll, Sue Ellen (Thomas L III) Hickey and Patricia (David) Aversa. Devoted daughter of the late Emmett and Jennie (nee Provenzano) Carroll. Kind aunt, niece and cousin of many. Visitation was Tuesday 2:00 to 8:00PM at the Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 14318 S. LaGrange Rd. (9600 W/Rt. 45), Orland Park. Family and friends were invited to gather on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Church, 210 W. Logan St., Lemont, concelebrated by Rev. Eamon R. Carroll, O'Carm and Rev. Bernard Pietrzak. Interment will take place on Thursday, June 16th 12:00 PM (E.S.T.) at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery, 51841 Leach Rd., Sister Lakes, Dowagiac, MI. Dearest Carroll and Bova families,
When my sister married into the Provenzano family we became apart of that family. I've been to many family gatherings; and since my sister Theresa and brother-in-law Aug lived so close, I saw all of the Carroll family even more. My memories are all fond loving ones! Rosemarie like her sisters, brother and parents, always had smiles on their faces, both on their lips and in their eyes. I know she will be missed, but she will always be in your hearts...

Mom and I are absolutely heart broken to hear this sad, sad news. After tears, we began reminicing of sooooo many happy, wonderful times when living in Thornton,....and our families shared many. We were so very sorry to hear of your loss. Rosemarie will be remembered by the children and parents of District 118 as an administrator who was all about the children. I met her when I worked with the District 118 PFA. She always had a smile on her face and a few minutes to say hello to a fellow Rose as she called me.
