Please accept my condolences during this difficult time. While reading the story in the paper I couldn't help but be reminded of my Uncle Ralph, also born with Downs Syndrome. He was also small in stature, but gigantic in heart. He too defied long odds by living until 47 years old when most doctors at the time of his birth suggested he might not make it past his first 5 years.
