Rosemary T. Fazio

I have thought of Rosemary throughout the years. We were classmates in Hawthorne Jr. H.S. and Yonkers H.S. She was mature beyond her years which I admired. It was because of her that I went to the prom. I didn´t have a date and neither did a classmate. She got us together to go as friends as she said I would look back on this time and would feel terrible that I missed this special event. Of course she was right. Reading her obit and what she accomplished in life didn´t surprise me at all....

We were neighbors with Rosemary and her husband David for many years in Kailua, shared progressive dinners, our Italian heritage and camaraderie that is rare to find these days in a neighborhood. We raised our kids and their golden retrievers together, lived through many false-tsunami warnings, witnessed flocks of tourists trek down the beach lane and enjoyed holiday fireworks together. One of my best students when I was a Professor of Social Work. I was glad to provide scholarship help for her MSW and law degree thru my gerontology grant. She continued providing social services through out her life. She was fun and a wonderful person.
